Some say the universe is expanding
But I say it's closing in
Looping back upon itself
Returning back to where it begins.
Astronomers who watch the sky
Will find this out in the end
Searching space for signs of life
As the 'verse rounds the bend.
All those sparks of sentient light
Are just reflections from long ago
For when we stare into the black
It's ourselves we'll see staring back.
