Once upon a summer sky
The fairies dreamed of candy clouds
Shaking out their wings, they left their forest beds
To follow the sugary scent that filled their little heads
Only Susan's wide brown eyes
witnessed the gossamer fairy flight
"Come sit at my table and I will delight, "
ordered the Queen of a foreign land
But her mead was not so sweet
as the candy cloud in their dream
as the candy cloud in their dream
and the fairies could not be turned from their plan
"We are delicious, taste and see", the phlox cried
bowing low as the fairy crowd passed them by
To other calls they paid no heed
For their destination was in their sights
Oh happy was the fairy king
Oh joyful was the fairy queen
The heady aroma that filled their dream
was the nectar of the legendary Ambrosia tree
Amazing, not often do I get poetry or poems, but the visual use of your images gives clarity to the words. Excellently done.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Then I feel I achieved my purpose. Since I am more verbal than visual, I feel the words make the pictures a little less ordinary. But what I really wanted was for it to work both wayy--for both the images and words to be essential to the story.
